P.O.E.T. Ministries Billboard Project for 2005 - 2011

Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May the Lord abundantly bless you, and your family. It's a blessing to do the Lord's work. My name is Ms. Yvette Wilburn. I am a local Christian poet/author. Through the Holy Spirit, I have written several poems on the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. These poems are written in booklet form. I am the author of four books: Giving Thanks, Is Christ Still in Your Christmas?, The Blood of Jesus, and Our Father.

In the year 2005, during Resurrection time and Christmas, my ministry, "P.O.E.T. Ministries," put up three city billboards. They were located at 8 Mile Road at Orleans (Dec-Jan), St. Jean at Jefferson (March-April 2005), and Hancock at Woodward (April-May). The pictures for the billboards are from the covers of my two booklets "Is Christ Still in Your Christmas" and "The Blood of Jesus". This years billboards are located on Hancock at Woodward and Harper at Coplin (it can be seen from I-94 going east). (April-May 2006) I have received tremendous public response. Also for Thanksgiving, we put up a billboard on Kelly and Yorkshire in Detroit.  We did put up a Christmas billboard in 2006.  We are looking forward to putting up some billboards for Resurrection Day.  We also plan to expand to include other cities in this project.

Many people made comments on how refreshing it was to see a Christian billboard. One man e-mailed me after seeing the billboard to thank me. He said that it was inspirational to see his Savior up there on his way home. A prominent doctor saw my advertisement in a magazine about the billboard and contacted me. She made a donation to show her support. This is an important endeavor. I am requesting financial donations and support in putting up more billboards this year. I am proud to be a Christian poet.
